PALLADIUM BOOTS REVIEW
By Growing up, I have always been fascinated by boots. I love its clunky, hefty design and how I can use them in almost any terrain. I got my first pair of boots when I was fourteen, and I haven’t looked back since. Boots gave me that extra boost of confidence during the years where my self-esteem was almost non-existent.

Living in a fast-paced world is hard when your footwear adds a hindrance to your movements. Our feet do most of the work during the day and we don’t even notice them. Like our lifestyle, working hours, and social life, our footwear has to be flexible amidst our ever-changing surroundings.
That is why I choose Palladium. It has been around for over half a century and is regarded as one of the best bootmakers in the world. Having supplied boots for soldiers during the Second World War, Palladium products are sure to be of strong, durable quality. They are exactly what I need to help me keep moving.
Design
The Palladium Pampa Solid Ranger TP has a unique boldness to its silhouette. It comes in three muted but distinct colors. Personally, the black color is the best simply because it can be paired with anything. It can also be worn by anyone, given that they have the same shoe size.
The Solid Ranger’s ergonomic design gives it a universal feel that it is fashionable to men, women, and those who identify as both or neither. Seeing the Palladium’s part in gay pride is a nice touch to their history and thus adds a few brownie points.
The laces are rounded and thick. These are looped through metal eyelets, making them easily adjustable. They give the boots a snug fit, along with the cushioned insoles and hugging heel cup. The outsole provides a good layer of protection for toes.
The Pampa Solid Ranger TP also comes with a wallet-sized pack for my everyday essentials, like keys, identification cards, and credit cards. It goes over one of the boot’s ankles with a strap secured by hook-and-loop fasteners. The pack is versatile yet strong with its thick strap and padded interior. It gives an asymmetric vibe that is reminiscent of today’s fashion sense.
To give it a truly authentic look, the woven Palladium logo is sewed at the top of the tongue and the upper sides of each boot. This is how I know that the boots are top quality when the logo is carefully embedded into the product. This gives it a seal of quality and the promise of good manufacturing execution.
Material
Rubber, leather, and fleece don’t usually appear in the same sentence, much less the same product, but Palladium makes it work to its advantage. When you think it couldn’t get better, Palladium boasts of its synthetic nubuck leather.
The ridged soles provide great traction, especially in the muddy mountain terrain. Keep in mind that these have been tested against a lot of harsh weather conditions. The boots aren’t as heavy as you would think it is, since the soles are made of ethylene-vinyl acetate or EVA and thus lighter than its pure rubber counterpart.
It is also an advantage away from the steep uphill slopes. They are conducive to walking with every cushioned step. The hard-working EVA soles provide comfort to my hardworking feet even after hours of walking or hiking. These soles pad my feet against the elements surrounding me while still staying supple inside the synthetic nubuck leather exterior.
The outsole is made of molded rubber and is connected to the sole with EVA sponge fillers. This is one feature I love because I tend to stub my toes everywhere.
The fleece mesh lining the insides adds an extra layer of comfort and softness that other boots lack. Because of this, I get great ankle support from the Pampa Solid Ranger. The magic does wear off after a few months, but that is to be expected.
The small pack is made with the same coated twill as the upper of the boot. This helps at the very least repel water droplets from my essentials. The coated twill keeps them nice and dry until I need to use them.
Durability
These boots aren’t impervious to wear and tear. However, with proper care and storage, these boots can last up to years. They are, after all, meant to withstand a wide range of temperatures, terrain, and weather conditions.
With that in mind, it can also be hard to break in, so I recommend you to wear the boots a few times before any major hiking or other outdoor activities.
Pros and Cons
The pros of this product are:

- Insoles have great arch support.
- Affordable and worth every cent of investment.
The cons, however, are as follows:
- Sizing can be an issue. Make sure to check both the US and European sizes. Another factor is the width of the wearer’s feet. With Palladium boots, they are mostly on the narrow side of the spectrum.
- Inner lining may cause problems in different seasons. What can keep me warm in the wintertime might turn up the heat during summer.
- The parts most prone to wearing first are the outsole and sides of the boot, as in all types of footwear. It can slowly peel off if the boots are used improperly or due to normal wear and tear.
Conclusion
Palladium boots are among, if not, the best in the market. It has the perfect balance between fashion and professionalism. Its versatility in all my attires makes it a must-have in my fashion arsenal.
